Richard Moremon joined the Vice Chancellor’s Board in August 2007 as the new Director of Marketing and Communications. Brought up near Penarth he graduated from University of Glamorgan with an honours degree in Business Studies. He also holds a Diploma from the CAM Foundation (Communications, Advertising and Marketing) awarded by The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
Before joining Cardiff Metropolitan University Richard was the Head of Marketing Strategy and Planning at BBC Wales. A major success whilst working there was in devising the strategy that has helped establish BBC Wales’ reputation as the creator of original and popular programming - in particular Doctor Who and Torchwood. Previous to that he was a board director at S4C International and at advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather in London.
Richard co-ordinates the Communications, Marketing and Student Recruitment team tasked with taking on bold initiatives for the university. His role is to lead the CMSR team in building a strategic and co-ordinated approach to ensuring that the Cardiff Metropolitan University brand is consistently represented to potential students, alumni and other stakeholders.
The CMSR team also has an active role in portfolio review, making sure that the academic team have the best intelligence at their finger tips to deliver market-driven career-focussed courses that continue to put Cardiff Metropolitan University on the map.
Richard also has board level responsibilities for representing Cardiff Metropolitan University's interests on the Cardiff & Co. Strategy Board.
