Open Day Questions
Q1. Do I have to book to attend an Open Day or can I just turn up?
It is essential that you book before attending any of our open days. This allows us to make all the necessary arrangements for your visit and ensure you get the best experience you can when you get here.
Q2. How do I book onto an Open Day?
You can book onto an academic school or course specific open day by registering online at www.cardiffmet.ac.uk/vip (unless otherwise stated on the Open Day Dates page). If you experience any difficulties booking online please contact our Open Day Officer on 029 2041 6042 or by emailing us at opendays@cardiffmet.ac.uk
Q3. When will I receive confirmation of my booking?
Online Bookings: If you have made a booking online by registering through www.cardiffmet.ac.uk/vip, you will receive confirmation of your booking immediately through your personalised VIP web page. Just navigate to the ‘Open Days’ section of your VIP page where your booking details will be displayed. You will also receive an email confirming your booking within 24hrs to the email address you provided when registering. We will also be in touch approximately two weeks prior to your open day to re-confirm all details along with other important information.

Yes, if you wish to change any details relating to your booking, you can do this online by logging in to your personalised VIP web page at www.cardiffmet.ac.uk/vip. Just navigate to the ‘Edit Profile’ link at the top of your page, skip to Step four (4) of the form and update your booking details as necessary. If you wish to cancel your open day booking, simply check the box which says ‘No’ next to your booking. By selecting ‘No’ you are cancelling your booking.
Q5. What time will the Open Day begin?
All of our open days will run differently depending on which one you attend. For a full list of open day dates and times please click here. However you will be sent all the necessary information approximately two weeks prior to the event. This will be sent via e-mail, if you have provided an e-mail address, or by standard post if we hold no email address for you.
Q6. On the Open Day, will I be able to ask students who are currently studying at UWIC any questions I may have?
Yes, on the Open Day we have a team of student ambassadors who can tell you exactly what it is like studying with us.
Q7. Are any of the Open Days by official invite only?
Yes, anyone who applies to the Cardiff School of Sport (including Dance), will need to apply for their chosen course through UCAS and meet all the necessary criteria before being invited to a Sport Specific Applicant Open Day.
When invited you are expected to attend these open days to show your commitment to applying for the course. For further information please click here
