How to Apply
There are a number of different application procedures for places at Cardiff Metropolitan University. It is important that you use the correct procedure to make sure that your application reaches us safely.
To find out how to apply for a course, check the details given in the description of the particular course you wish to study - this tells you which organisation will deal with your application. The guidelines on this page tell you how to obtain further details about applications.
Undergraduate Students
If you wish to apply for a full time undergraduate course please do so via the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service at http://www.ucas.ac.uk/ or click here for further information.
Top-Ups
If you are a current student (studying on a Foundation Programme or HNC/D) and wish to top-up to an undergraduate programme, you will need to contact your Course Director in the first instance. The Course Director will then need to inform the Registry department if your are permitted to progress. This process excludes those applying for BSc Human Nutrition & Dietetics, BSc Podiatry and BSc Speech & Language Therapy where applications must be made through UCAS (http://www.ucas.com/) as these programmes have limited places and are NHS funded.
External 'top-ups'
If you are a student at another Institution applying to Cardiff Metropolitan University to top-up onto a full undergraduate programme, applications must be made through http://www.ucas.com/. If you are applying to top up onto a part time programme you can apply directly to Cardiff Metropolitan University. Download Application Form (PDF requires Adobe Reader.
Internal Transfers
If you are current student who is transferring internally onto another programme, you can apply directly to Cardiff Metropolitan University. Download Application Form (PDF requires Adobe Reader.)
External Transfers
If you are transferring to Cardiff Metropolitan University from another Institution onto an undergraduate programme, applications are to be made through http://www.ucas.com/; for part time / postgraduate (excluding PGCE Primary & Secondary), applications can be made directly to Cardiff Metropolitan University. Deferrals
If you are holding a deferred offer with us, you will be contacted in January/February asking if you are still taking up your place. A joining pack will be sent out to you in July directing you to the new students website which will provide you with information on induction and enrolment.
Withdrawals
If you applied to us and was accepted on to an undergraduate fulltime programme but decided to withdraw, you will need to reapply through http://www.ucas.ac.uk/.
Part Time Students

PGCE Teacher Training Course
If you wish to apply for a PGCE teacher training course please do so via the Graduate Teacher Training Registry at http://www.gttr.ac.uk/
Research Students
