If you have already applied through UCAS for a course at another institution and have passed your examinations with better than expected results you will automatically be entered into an Adjustment period which allows you to contact institutions for an offer of a place.

The Adjustment process is available from A level results day which is the 16th of August to the 31st of August.  Once your place has been confirmed i.e. changed from Conditional Firm (CF) to Unconditional Firm (UF) and you have met and exceeded your original offer you have 5 days (up to and including 31st August) to contact a university or college to discuss an Adjustment place. This means that you can contact other institutions for a place whilst still holding your offer at your chosen institution.

If you wish for Cardiff Met to consider your application you must register to use Adjustment on UCAS Track.

For further information on the Adjustment Period please refer to the UCAS website at: www.ucas.com/students/nextsteps/adjustment/

Q4.  I didn’t get the A-level (or equivalent) grades I was expecting.  What now?

If you are holding a conditional offer…
Firstly, contact UCAS or the Institution that is your 'Firm' choice and check the status of your offer, then call us to see if we can offer you an alternative course and/or explore other course options available to you. You are not able to access UCAS Track until after 4pm on the 16th August.

Advice Line: 0300 330 0755
or you may email askadmissions@cardiffmet.ac.uk but please be aware there may be a delay with replies due to the busy period.

If you did not meet the conditions of your firm offer…
Call your first choice university as they may still be able to offer you a place, if the course you have applied for has entered Clearing.

Also contact your insurance choice institution – you may have met the conditions to join your insurance choice course.

If your firm and insurance offers are no longer available to you…

You will be released by UCAS into Clearing.  Check out the range of courses available to you at Cardiff Met and call the advice line to secure your place.
