Cardiff Metropolitan University Continuing Education Award in Sports Massage (CMUCEA in Sports Massage)
Previously enjoyed only by a few elite athletes, sports massage therapy is now becoming accepted and popular in the UK amongst, not only elite athletes, but also recreational sports people and the general public.
Further-more, increased funding for sport and the support systems that underpin sport, along with greater numbers of athletes and the increased importance placed on medical / para-medical care the demand for properly trained sports massage practitioners has increased.
In order to meet the demand for trained sports massage practitioners, SPS Ltd developed a course of study combining the skills of sports masseurs, Sports Physiologists and Chartered Physiotherapists. The course now being offered is a Cardiff Metropolitan University credit-rated award [60 credits at Level 5] and remains an accepted professional entry level qualification recognised by the Sports Massage Association.

Commencing in September 2013, we will be running 2 courses – 1) Over 10 weekends and 2) over 20 Wednesday afternoons/evenings.
Course 1 – Weekend Course [CMUCEASM 1 – Wkd] (Runs on the following weekends from 9.30am – 4.00pm)

October 2013: 5/6th and 19/20th
November 2013: 2/3rd, 16/17th and 30/1st Dec
December 2013: 7/8th
January 2014: 11/12th and 25/26th
February 2014: 8/9th
Provisional Practical and Theory Examination Date- March 1st 2014
Course 2 - Wednesday Course [CMUCEASM2 – Wed] (Runs on the following Wednesdays from 1-7pm)

October 2013: 9th and 23rd

December 2013: 4th and 18th
January 2014: 8th and 22nd
February 2014: 5th and 19th
March 2014: 5th and 19th
April 2014: 2nd, 16th and 30th
May 2014: 14th and 28th
June 2014: 11th and 25th
Provisional Practical and Theory Examination Date - July 12th 2014
An additional Residential version of the course [CMUCEASM 3 – Res] is being considered for 2014 – 1 week at Easter and 1 week in the Summer. Please contact us if you are interested in this option.
