Sport Psychology 

Members of the sport psychology group have a divergent range of academic and professional interests which are reflected in the teaching and research pursuits of individual staff. The broad main areas of interest within the group are in the areas of; stress and performance, mental toughness, psychology of injury, confidence, social cognitive approaches to motivation, life skill development and the psychology of coaching. Sport psychology teaching staff support both sport psychology and research methods based modules, furnishing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes based in the Cardiff School of Sport.

We also run two Masters programmes; 
MSc Sport Psychology (BPS accredited)
MSc Applied Sport Psychology

In addition to research and teaching, many of the team have been, or are currently involved in consultancy work, for example supporting individuals and teams in; professional rugby and soccer; Olympic athletics; professional and elite amateur golf; and elite swimming. Further, all staff are heavily involved with a variety of professional bodies and academic journals within the discipline of sport psychology.
