Food Industry Skills Project
Welcome to the Food Industry Skills Project led by Cardiff Metropolitan University.
This collaborative project has been awarded £308,000 funding from the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW)
to develop a unique Masters programme, a student placement bursary scheme and a series of short courses designed to meet the needs of the food & drink sector.
The Food Industry Skills Project is due to end in March 2012. The project has successfully assisted in the development and implementation of:
1. An online MSc Food Technology for Industry
2. A Food Science and Technology Foundation Degree
3. A range of industry-led short (one day) courses
4. A student placement bursary scheme
If you wish to know more about the project please contact Helen Taylor or Leanne Ellis on 029 2041 6306. We look forward to hearing from you.
Following this project it was possible to continue to the work started by the Food Industry Skills Project in the development and delivery of Food Industry Learning Online. Food Industry Learning Online (FILO) is a programme which aims to create a highly skilled and knowledge driven workforce. The modules available through this programme have been taken directly from qualifications at the university specifically designed to up-skill employees in the Food Industry in Wales, giving them a route to gain qualifications. FILO is part of the Work-Based Learning programme and is funded by the EU's Convergence European Social Fund through the Welsh Government.
We would like to thank all the partners for their invaluable contributions and continued support to this project.
