Background
Whilst studying Applied Biology at UWIST, Cardiff, I developed an interest in Medical Biochemistry. After graduating in 1979 I worked for several years as a state registered Biomedical Scientist in the Medical Biochemistry Dept of the University Hospital of Wales. I continued my studies and gained fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences in 1981 and progressed to senior management level. In 1991 I joined UWIC and have led the Medical Biochemistry teaching and been part of the medical laboratory science team. I maintain strong collaborative links with NHS departments and the profession.

Advances in Diagnostic technology with particular interest in Diabetic control and management.
