The Centre provides a range of qualifying and postqualifying programmes in social work in partnership with Local Authority and Voluntary sector employers, Service users and Carer organisations. The programmes are professionally accredited by the Care Council for Wales.
Social work professionals work in a variety of settings, with a variety of people, for example, children, young people, people who are homeless, older people, people with physical or sensory impairments, people with mental health issues. Social workers are employed in the statutory sector by Local Authorities and also in health, voluntary and private sectors. Many students are attracted to social work as an opportunity to make a real difference to the quality of peoples’ lives.
