Jacqueline has been involved in a number of innovations in social work education within Wales aimed at developing high quality, flexible and accessible qualifying and Postqualifying social work education. The first AP(E)L and APL modes in qualifying education in Wales;  the first qualifying degree programme in Wales; the first and only PQ Community Care Programme; and the use of blended learning to promote a more flexible programme structure. She considers one of the strengths of social work education to be the collaborative working with employer partners, service user and carer organisations which she considers to have been invaluable in these developments.

Externally she is a member of the National Strategic Advisory Group on Social Work Education and Regional Postqualifying Development Group. Most recently she has been nominated to participate in ESRC's Research & Development Initiative II aimed at building greater research capacity within social work.

Jacqueline has carried out SWAPLTSN funded research on Personal Development Planning (PDP) and has a research interest in men and family cohesion. Her primary teaching interests are in relation to personal and professional development; and evidence based practice.
