The school currently engages 17.49 fte, technical assistants, technicians, senior technicians and technician demonstrators, who are responsible for all aspects of technical support in the laboratories and specialist teaching areas of The Cardiff School of Health Sciences.

All posts provide direct support to students and academic programmes. In addition, some posts also provide support to the school's research and enterprise activities and work closely with project funded research technicians and technologists.
 
All staff in the technical unit are accountable to the School’s Principal Technician and Quality Manager.
