Mitch Winfield joined UWIC as a Senior Lecturer in 1997 after 5 years as Head of Drama in secondary schools in South Wales.

Her main responsibility was to lecture on the BA (Hons) Education: Secondary Drama programme, an ITET course for students wishing to become secondary school Drama teachers.  In 2001 Mitch took on the role of Programme Director for this course. Her responsibilities included the authoring and delivery of the programme.  Her particular areas of interest and expertise are in drama and drama education.

Since 2008, Mitch has taught on the newly validated English and Drama degree

Current research interests include the building of cultures of creativity in HE as well as the development of alternative communication systems to assist the training of student teachers
