Pauline Sheldon

Now Emeritus Professor at the University of Hawaii, Pauline Sheldon’s research interests include sustainable tourism policy and tourism education futures, CRS and wellness tourism. She recently founded Tourism Education Futures Initiative (TEFI) with Dr. Dan Fesenmaier – to provide vision and a framework for the future of tourism education.
She was inducted into the International Academy for the Study of Tourism in 2003, and now serves as its President. In 2008 she was recognized by the UNWTO when she received the
Ulysses Prize for knowledge creation in tourism, and in 2009 by the Travel and Tourism Association with its Lifetime Achievement award. She has advised the World Bank, UNWTO and APEC International Centre for Sustainable Tourism.

John has worked in the field of international development and human rights for over 20 years, and has authored numerous publications on issues of globalisation, trade, investment and poverty.
