The UWIC Rider Bus Service

UWIC offer a UWIC Rider bus pass for students, which gives unlimited access to the entire Cardiff Bus network from the 1st September till the 30th June. The cost of a UWIC Rider bus pass works out at just £4.88 per week, considering it will take you all over the city including Penarth, Wenvoe, Dinas Powys and Cardiff Road in Barry, it really is the only way to travel cheaply and quickly around Cardiff.

The UWIC Rider bus service offers transport between UWIC campuses and all main student halls and private accommodation areas. It runs from Monday to Friday from 8am to 10pm through the academic year and allows students to travel safely through the city day and night.

This year we have a new route which runs from the City Centre (by Cardiff Castle) straight to the Llandaff Campus so it’s perfect for those commuting by train into Cardiff Central. Our Fast-Track service will continue to run through the popular student areas of Roath and Cathays twice every hour, as well as buses calling at all residential halls used by UWIC. We are also introducing evening supermarket trips for students Monday to Friday (please see our timetable for more details).

The UWIC Rider and Fast Track Services operate Term Time only. Students can however access Cardiff Bus services from the 1st September until the 30th June with their Rider Bus Pass.

Last year sales of the UWIC Rider pass exceeded 2,000. Therefore it’s worth applying early to avoid disappointment as numbers are limited.
