2012 marks the 15 year anniversary of the Met Rider (formerly the UWIC Rider), an award winning bus service offered by Cardiff Metropolitan University in partnership with Cardiff Bus, connecting all three University campuses, student halls and residential areas, and the city centre.
The Met Rider runs Monday to Friday from 8am to 10pm during term time and allows students and staff to travel safely throughout the city.

Met Rider pass
Students and staff can purchase a Met Rider pass, subsidised by the University, allowing unlimited travel throughout the academic year on the entire Cardiff Bus network, including services to Penarth and Barry.
* Staff can travel between campuses for meetings free of charge on the Met Rider.
Apply for a Met Rider pass
The number of Met Rider passes available is limited, so please apply early to avoid disappointment. You can apply for a pass from July, and passes will be available to collect from 1st September.

Travel on the Met Rider (formerly the UWIC Rider) has steadily increased since it was launched in 1997, with an average of almost 5,500 journeys made on the Met Rider each week in 2011, a figure which represents a 53% increase since 2009.
The 2010/11 academic year saw nearly 2,200 Met Rider permits sold to staff and students. This represents a 35% increase in sales in the last five years.
