Post Conference Statement
On behalf of BASES, Cardiff Metropolitan University and the Conference Organising team, I wish to thank all the Delegates and Exhibitors who visited the Cardiff School of Sport at our Cyncoed Campus for the BASES Student Conference 2013.
It was our objective to create an environment that was engaging, comfortable, and relevant to the potential pathways that you, the future of Sport and Exercise Science in the UK, may wish to take. To facilitate this we had two excellent keynotes from Dr. Steve Ingham and his team from EIS and Sport Wales, and from our very own Professor Rob Shave. These helped set up the ‘pathway to practice’ theme for the conference. We also had nine practical workshops that delegates could choose from, mainly led by our dynamic staff, a bonus elite performance workshop by Sarah Rowell, CV Workshops, and, most important, a quality programme of student presenters.
We sincerely hope you enjoyed your experience at Cardiff Met and hope you will share your experiences on a survey we will send around soon. One comment Professor Rob Shave made when he first experienced the environment you all created was, ‘wouldn’t it be great to take all these delegates and have them in one institution!’ Consequently, if you enjoyed your time and felt Cardiff Met had a place in guiding your pathway, then please check the link below or contact me or any of the staff here at Cardiff Met.
