Academic Registry Question Time

Academic Registry Question Time is a series of informal staff development sessions, which started in the academic year 2008-2009. The sessions take place at the rate of one or two per term, over a lunchtime, and address a topic that is pertinent to academic staff at the particular time of the academic year. Each is based around Cardiff Met's regulations and procedures, but we focus on practice and operational issues.

Target Audience. These sessions will be particularly useful for new members of staff as well as existing members of staff who are starting as programme directors or module leaders. However, all staff are most welcome to attend.

Format. Each session has a presentation by Academic Registry members of staff, but the intention is that this forms the basis for informal questions and discussions with the participants. We expect these to be along the lines of “How do I…?” or “Who can help me with…?". We focus on how to get things done, rather than copious references to and quoting from the Academic Handbook (essential though it is).

Facilitator: Academic Registry.  Please see our structure chart for who's who and where they fit into the Academic Registry.
