Dr Shirley Hobbis has recently been awarded a PhD from Cardiff Metropolitan University where she did her undergraduate degree. Previously she taught in the field of Education at both Primary and Secondary levels.
She has a research interest in the Psychology of Ageing from both a health and a developmental perspective. Her PhD was entitled ‘Adjusting to retirement: Changing views of normality’ which took a mixed methods approach.
Shirley currently teaches on Research Methods, Psychology for Learning and Work, Contemporary Issues in Psychology and Biopsychosocial Issues in Health Psychology. She also teaches on the Foundation to Social Sciences Course where she is module leader for Key Skills in Social Sciences.
