I joined UWIC in 2004 as the Psychology Administrator for the Cardiff School of Health Sciences, within the Psychology Department. I provided administrative support to the BSc (hons) Psychology programme, helping devise and develop new systems to ensure the smooth running of the programme. During 2004/05 the department developed two Masters programmes in Health and Forensic Psychology and I was responsible for setting up and maintaining all the administrative systems for these new programmes and helping through the accreditation of both programmes.
I was awarded the Vice Chancellors award for excellence in September 2007 for outstanding Customer focus for providing additional support to another centre, the Centre for Applied Social Sciences.
In December 2009, I went on Maternity leave returning to work in November 2010 part time where my role changed slightly to Taught programmes administrator providing administrative support to 13 Masters programmes throughout the school of Health Sciences from Dental Technology to Musculoskeletal studies.
In November 2011, I become the Taught Programmes Office Supervisor on a full time basis and provide support to 11 programmes including the BSc (hons) Environmental Health programme and Masters in Health and Forensic Psychology as well as the line management of 6 administrative staff. The office is a busy, lively place to work and throws challenges at you daily that’s why I enjoy it so much, no two days are ever the same.
