Profile


Sian Davies-Barnes joined the Cardiff School of Education in 2000.  She is currently the Deputy Programme Director of the PGCE Primary and has responsibility for the school experience aspects of the programme, including the placing of students in schools and mentor training.  Prior to this she was a Year Tutor for many years on the BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS programme eventually taking the role of Programme Director of that programme in 2011.

When not carrying out her Deputy Director duties, Sian can be found leading music and education workshops for trainee teachers.  Before moving into teacher training she worked as a classroom teacher and music co-ordinator in a primary school. She is Honorary Treasurer of the Orff Society (UK).
