I began my teaching career late in life, returning to formal education at Cardiff Met and gaining my MA (Ed) in 1997. I joined the School of Lifelong Learning in 1997 and have been part of the team delivering the PGCE/Cert Ed in Post Compulsory Education.
Whilst this sounds simplistic, I have had a broad experience of delivery within post-compulsory education. This began as a Machine Knitting tutor in Community Education, working with non-traditional learners in informal settings to set up one of the first Open College Network accredited learning programmes for Machine Knitting in Wales. I have also been instrumental in developing and establishing an Open College Network (OCN) accredited curriculum framework for one of the largest community education franchises in the UK.

I have worked as a Moderator and as a Development Officer for the Open College Network in South East Wales and this has given me expansive knowledge in the field of Credit Based learning.
