UWIC's School of Education has over 2000 students supported by over 100 academic and administrative staff.
In 2001 the School of Education celebrated 50 years of Initial Teacher Education Training (ITET) provision in Cardiff and it remains the largest in Wales and one of the largest centres for ITET in the United Kingdom. It has established an enviable reputation for the quality of its provision that has been publicly recognised by Estyn through its inspection process.
Both the Department of Humanities and Department of Professional Development have excellent recruitment figures and their programmes have an increasing national and international reputation for excellence.

Together, these departments offer a wide range of programmes for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Research
The research culture in the School also continues to grow. As we attract more full-time and part-time M. Phil., Ed.D. and PhD students, including those from the international context, the School has increased its research output.
