Travel and Transport
The University is in its third year of a five year travel plan, and has made significant progress against its primary objective 'To achieve a reduction in single occupancy car journeys associated with the University's activities'. The following section presents the key improvements during the 2010 and 2011 academic year.
Overall in 2010/11, the University achieved a reduction of 10% in staff driving to work and a further 12% reduction in students travelling to the University campuses by car.

Scope
The Travel Plan features all the travel elements associated with Cardiff Metropolitan University’s operation including staff and student travel, business travel as well as that relating to deliveries and visitors.
Overall aims and objectives
The overall aim of the Travel Plan is to reduce the impact of Cardiff Metropolitan University generated traffic on the environment. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of effective action planning based upon clear objectives.
