Foundation Programme: Cardiff School of Management 

Course Overview

This foundation programme offers the following degree pathways:

Foundation leading to Business & Management*
Foundation leading to Accounting, Economics & Finance*
Foundation leading to Computing & Information Systems*
Foundation leading to Tourism, Hospitality & Events*

*subject to validation

This course is intended for students wishing to enrol on a three-year honours degree programme in Cardiff School of Management (CSM), who fall into one of the following categories:

1. Students who have not achieved the required A-level points score.
2. Mature students who have been out of the formal education system for some time.

Course Content

The course links with the following honours degree programme areas delivered within the Cardiff School of Management. As such, students following the foundation route will take an extra year to complete their honours degree.

Business and Management:
Business & Management Studies (with specialist pathways) - BA (Hons)
International Business Management - BA (Hons)
Marketing Management - BA (Hons)

Accounting, Economics and Finance:
Accounting - BA (Hons)
Accounting & Finance - BA (Hons)
Business Economics - BA (Hons)
Economics - BSc (Hons)
International Economics & Finance - BSc/BScEcon (Hons)

Computing and Information Systems:
Business Information Systems - BSc (Hons)
Computing - BSc (Hons)
Software Engineering  - BSc (Hons)

Tourism, Hospitality and Events:
Events Management - BA (Hons)
International Hospitality Management (with specialist pathways) - BA (Hons)
International Tourism Management (with specialist pathways) - BA (Hons)

The course will include the following areas:

• Academic Skills
• Information Technology
• Quantitative Methods
• Business and Management Studies
• Finance 

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum of five GCSE passes grade A-C including English Language and Mathematics or equivalent and 80 UCAS Tariff Points (or equivalent)

Candidates who do not possess normal minimum entry qualification are interviewed and considered individually by members of the course team on the basis of their prior learning or working background.

Course Length:
