UWIC hosts Architectural Technologists meetings
TWO meetings for the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists are being held at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC) today, Thursday 28 August.
Dr John Richard Littlewood, Senior Lecturer in Architectural Design & Technology in the Department of Architural Studies at UWIC’s Cardiff School of Art & Design, is hosting the two professional committee meetings at UWIC’s LLandaff campus.
Dr Littlewood has been a member of the I&R committee since 2004 and was one of the founding members of the climate change taskforce in 2007.
The first meeting is the Innovation & Research (I&R) Committee which reviews innovative practices and technologies which could be sutitable for Architectural Technologists in practice.
One of the items for discussion is developing a wider scope for the Research element of the I&R committee, which is being tabled by Professor Stephen Emmitt of Loughborough University and Dr’s John Littlewood and Boris Ceranic of UWIC and Derby University, commencing with a joint authored book on Architectural Technology and Sustainbaility.
The second meeting is the Climate Change Taskforce Committee which reviews practices, products and technologies which could lead to reductions in climate change when specified by Architectural Technologists in practice.
