UWIC Strengthens Link with Singapore

The University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC) is strengthening its links with the Far East having recently hosted senior staff from the East Asia School of Business (EASB), Singapore.

EASB’s Chief Executive, Mr Andrew Chua and its Vice President, Mr James Chua visited Cardiff to discuss opportunities that would see UWIC offering a range of additional programmes at EASB including new degrees in Banking and Finance and Business Information Systems.

“This is an exciting time for UWIC’s burgeoning relationship with EASB, as demand for programmes delivered with international partners is expected to rise in the coming years,” said Lloyd Powell, Collaborative Provision Manager, UWIC.

“We look forward to furthering our discussions on the development of exciting new degree programmes, which will add to UWIC’s growing portfolio of international partnerships,” he added.

Around 100 EASB students in Singapore are currently studying for UWIC franchised degrees in subjects including Accountancy, International Hospitality Management and the MBA.

With a relationship dating back to 2005, UWIC ensures all programmes offered at EASB are subject to its strict quality control processes, which includes UWIC staff and UK External Examiners making regular visits to Singapore to scrutinise student work
