Glittering ICBT - Sri Lanka Graduation Celebration

The University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Antony Chapman, has attended a Cardiff Metropolitan University awards celebration held in Colombo. He was joined by more than 500 graduates and staff from the University’s Sri Lanka partner, the International College of Business and Technology (ICBT) at the event held in Colombo.

The University’s Pro Vice- Chancellor (International) Professor Mohamed Loutfi, and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise), and Dean of the Cardiff School of Management, Professor David Brooksbank, Andrew Walker, Director of Development, Lloyd Powell, Head of Collaborative Provision and Owain Llwyd, Senior International Marketing Officer also attended the event.

The awards celebration was followed by a celebration dinner for Cardiff Met-ICBT graduates at which the Cardiff Met-ICBT alumni chapter was launched by the University’s Director of Development, Mr Andrew Walker.

The University’s partnership with ICBT started in 2010, and currently there are over 700 full-time students enrolled on the University’s programmes, including MBA, BA Business and Management Studies and MSc in Information Technology degrees. New degree programmes to be launched later this session include the LLM, BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance and BA Educational Studies degrees.

Speaking after the graduation event, Professor Chapman commented, ‘I am delighted to return to Colombo with my colleagues and to join with our graduates for this fabulous celebration. Our partnership with ICBT continues to go from strength to strength, and my congratulations go to all graduates and to colleagues at ICBT, especially Dr Jagath Alwis and Mr Mohan Pathinara.’
