Card Services

Cardiff Met's ID card is available to all staff, students and external users of the university's facilities.

The card uses MiFare technology and as the card is adminstered and maintained centrally, it is able to be used in more areas than most other University cards.

Students and staff are issued with an id card when they first join the University. The card enables them:

- to enter access controlled areas (including student residences)
- to load money and pay for items using their card (often at a discount)
- to use print and copying services
- to use library and sports facilities
- to use Catering and Vending services.

Students must also display their id when paying fees at the i-zone and in examinations. For security, all students and staff should have their id card on them at times whilst on campus.
