Professor Mohamed Loutfi
Internationalisation in Practice

Date: Wednesday 16th January 2013
Time: 5.45pm for 6pm start
Venue: Lecture Theatre O1.01, Cardiff School of Management Building, Llandaff Campus

Internationalisation is a concept that has evolved and changed over the last few years. It is now a focal point for most Universities and nations. In a globalised world, internationalisation is perceived by many as the response from the Higher Education community to globalisation. In many countries, cross border Higher Education attractiveness is paramount as, more and more, it is perceived as a valuable export. The latest OECD conference stressed the importance of Internationalisation in the areas of job creation and economic growth but the latest DAVOS conference criticised the Higher Education community of not moving fast enough to respond to societal needs. This lecture will develop the meaning and relevance of internationalisation in the Higher Education sector and demonstrate how Cardiff Metropolitan University is a leading player in Wales.
