I am Chartered IT Professional currently running three businesses. I currently have four degrees in the fields of multimedia, e-learning, law and economics. I hope to integrate all this knowledge and experience into my doctorate to provide information systems  to people of diverse backgrounds.

I was the winner of the Letter of the Week in the Daily Mail in March 2011 for a letter on cyber-bullying and the law, and in the past I have been a finalist for awards for my activities in using technology public life and education.

My research interests include understanding how information technology, the arts, law and sciences can be blended to increase community participation and civil engagement.

I have written some successful papers, including ones titled, ‘The Internet for educating individuals with social impairments’ and ‘Increasing participation in online communities’ which I hope to integrate into my doctorate. I am a regular writer for IGI Global and attendee of the ITA conference. I also keep a blog at http://www.jonathanbishop.com/ and write articles for and letters to newspapers and magazines.

My motto is ‘study, prepare, succeed’, and I hope this will be how my doctorate turns out – researching followed by evaluation followed by successful examination.
