I joined UWIC in October 2001 and I teach on a variety of computing courses within the Business School. My main subjects areas are programming and database development, and I have been actively involved in recent consultancy work for UWIC within this field.

Before coming to UWIC I worked for 8 years as a computing lecturer at Ystrad Mynach College, during which time I also obtained a PGCE qualification. Before that I was as a research associate at UWCC where I worked on the development of a FORTRAN simulation program for assessing the risk to pedestrians at pelican crossings in areas controlled by urban traffic control systems! This research was sponsored by the Department of Transport’s Road Research Laboratory (TRRL).

I have both a PhD degree and BSc degree from the University of Wales. My PhD research involved the development of simulation programs and underlying models in the area of semiconductor device modelling.

Although originally from Pontypridd, I now live with my wife and children in Caerphilly.
