Dr. Ahmad El-Gohari joined the Cardiff School of Management in 2008. He is Chair of the Strategy Group and teaches on the School’s MBA programme. After completing his doctoral research, Dr. El-Gohari worked within a global management consultancy advising clients within the oil and gas, chemicals and utilities industries on issues relating corporate and business strategy. Clients included Government of Ireland; British Petroleum Plc; and Imperial Chemicals Industries Plc. Following his term in industry Dr. El-Gohari taught Strategy and International Business to undergraduate and postgraduate students in London.

Dr. El-Gohari’s broad research interests relate to economic development in Egypt and the Middle East. His current research addresses foreign direct investment within Egypt and also the relationship between emerging market multinationals and offshore financial centres.
