Angie taught in France, Germany and at two different universities in P. R. China before she came to UWIC and forged early international links by representing the university on the various occasions she was invited to teach at Lugansk University, Ukraine.

Angie’s teaching focuses on research skills, academic skills for business and language support.  Other duties include: dissertation co-ordinator for BA International Business Management, PhD second supervisor and School rep on Cardiff Met’s Disability Committee for which she produced a report reviewing the former WSHTL’s academic provision for disabled students in response to the Government’s widening participation policy.

Angie’s research interest lies in the social exclusion of individuals with high-level cervical spinal cord injury who are paralysed in all four limbs and require a ventilator to breathe.  Her PhD thesis explored the implications of both participation and involuntary non-participation in leisure travel on the well-being, quality of life and social integration of these individuals, and looked at how policy makers and hospital rehabilitation professionals might address the issue.
