After graduating from the University of Aberystwyth with an accounting degree I moved to Cardiff and began a Chartered Accountancy training contract with KPMG in their audit department being involved in a range of audits from a national retail group to the oil industry.  After qualification I moved to the tax department and stayed there for 10 years eventually specialising in personal taxation. 

For the last 10 years I have worked for both a small and top 20 accountancy practice as well as for The Audit Commission.  I now run my own practice and combine that with my lecturing at Cardiff Met. 

At Cardiff Met I lecture Taxation and Financial Accounts and try to expand on the text book situations by sharing real life scenarios and stories with the students.
