Information Systems and International Studies
The Department of Information Systems and International Studies offers a suite of taught full-time and part-time programmes in the Computing, Information Systems and Languages areas. Our employer-driven programmes have enjoyed consistently high overall student satisfaction scores in the National Student Survey (NSS) and are based in the state of the art Cardiff School of Management building at Cardiff Metropolitan University's Llandaff Campus.
NEWS: Cardiff Met has been ranked as the top new university in Wales for Computer Science in The Guardian Good University Guide 2013.
The university currently offers four degree programmes across the Computing and Information Systems spectrum: BSc (Hons) Computing, BSc (Hons) Software Engineering, BSc (Hons) Business Information Systems and BSc (Hons) Management & Technology. Our programmes also offer pathways to cater for subject specialisations, including Multimedia, Web Development, Networking and Data Security.
The Language and International Studies section aims to provide the international labour market with appropriately skilled employees, combining business knowledge, intercultural competencies, linguistic skills and work related competencies, through its BA (Hons) International Business Management and BA (Hons) International Business Administration programmes. Language study is enhanced with digital language laboratory facilities.
The Department boasts research-active staff in the areas of Computing, Information Systems, Languages and International Studies. Staff are encouraged to develop applied research interests and participate in the University’s wider research community.
