LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) to go
Cardiff Met’s Eco-Design Centre is a partner in the successful 7th Framework Programme (FP7) Research Project entitled “LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) to go”.

The project is coordinated by the prestigious Fraunhofer Institute, Germany and involves 17 other partners. “LCA to go” develops sectoral methods and tools for bio-based plastics, industrial machinery, electronics, renewable energy, sensors and smart textiles.

These sectors have been chosen as the manufacturers show a high interest in making clear the environmental benefits of their products to customers (“Green industries”) and in prioritizing so they can reduce their environmental impacts.

The project will have a direct impact on sectors representing nearly 500,000 SMEs. The total value of the project is £4.2m, with £300,000 allocated to UWIC.
