Erasmus Intensive Programme – Performance Analysis Short Course
Cardiff School of Sport obtained a grant under the Erasmus Intensive Programme to run a short course on Performance Analysis in Sport. 54 students from 19 Universities across Europe were recruited onto a 2 week course held in the West Hungarian University, Szombalthely. The students had qualifications in sport (either 1 or 2 years of a degree or coaching qualifications), and were looking to increase their knowledge of performance analysis.
The main objective of the programme is to bring together expert staff from different universities (9) across Europe, and a commercial software firm, to contribute to the intensive course in Performance Analysis of Sport (PAS).

The staff from the SME contributed a practical approach and complemented the academic delivery by the Universities’ staff. The course lead to mutual learning by all participants and all involved were able to use the materials and resources when they returned home.

The course gave academic credit for two Level 3 modules to the student’s equivalent to 20 CATS each in the UK, or 10 ECTS each in Europe. There was also a social programme organised by the host organisation.
