Careers & Training
All recent graduates are entitled to use our Careers Service for the first two years after graduation. Our dedicated team, led by Alyson Twyman, can help with planning your career, CV and applications advice, job searching and interview practice. Whether you're in work, further training, or looking for work, why not most of your access to Gradspace, an online e-learning environment exclusively for Cardiff Met/UWIC graduates, which can help develop your skills further. For more details check out their site!

GO Wales Graduate Training and Development Funding
Are you a self-employed graduate? Do you own or are you a graduate employed in a small to medium sized business in Wales? If so you could access the GO Wales Graduate Training & Development Fund to help with the cost of further training.
GO Wales can part fund courses costing over £300 and potentially fund 50% of the course cost up to £1500 (terms & conditions apply). GO Wales can support a range of courses including post-graduate qualifications or something like “Prince 2” Project Management. A number of courses currently offered by our Centre for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) would qualify for support.

20% Discount off Meetings Rooms and Conference Facilities
Conference Services would like to offer Alumni a 20% discount off facilities when booking a meeting or conference at the University.
A wide range of modern facilities are available and a dedicated conference team will be on hand to assist with your event.

Alumni can join the learning centres at Cardiff Met (UWIC) as a Community Plus borrower. It's FREE to join and you can borrow up to 5 items at a time. To join bring your old Cardiff Met/UWIC ID to any learning centre. If you do not have a card, please bring a copy of your certificate or another form of ID. You an also download an application form and fill it in before you visit. Just click here.

Graduates are entitled to join the gym and book other sports facilities at a discounted rate. Please take your old student card and current ID with you to either of our gyms to sign up.
We also welcome all our alumni to any of our sporting fixtures, especially when playing away at BUCS competitions! Details of athletics meetings and other matches are available on the Athletics Union website, alternatively, you can keep up with the UWIC Archers on their own dedicated website.
Many of our specialist workshops and studios are available for hire to graduates during the summer months, including our foundry, and the new Analogue Music Environment & Digital Post Production Suite in the Department of Creative Communication. For more information, please contact us.
