Ben Annear

Ben Annear, BSc (Hons) Psychology 2011, was selected by the Rotary Club of Llandaff to take part in the fully funded Ottenheimer International Youth Exchange Project this summer, one of only 2 scholarships allocated to candidates selected by the Rotary Clubs of Cardiff.

On August 7th 2011, Ben flew over to the USA to spend 4 and half weeks in Arkansas and 4 days in Washington DC, staying with members of the Rotary Club of Little Rock, Arkasas. His time was spent visiting national monuments, meeting State officials, volunteering with local charities, and making the most of the Arkansas summer. The full account of Ben’s trip is available to read here. You can also see Ben's scholarship-winning video bid here.

Ben, who’s 21 and from Cardiff, is now back at UWIC studying for an MSc in Forensic Psychology. In the past, he has had many different adventures, including being an activity instructor in Greece, Majorca and France, and appearing on a TV gameshow known as ‘101 Ways to Leave a Gameshow’, set in Argentina. His next challenge is to run the 2012 London Marathon - Ben, we wish you all the very best for that!
