How To Apply

Priority for a room in Halls

Priority for a room in Halls of Residence is given to first year students. When allocating rooms we take into consideration the distance students live from Cardiff and the date the online Application for Halls was received.

Please note, depending on demand for halls of residence, if your home address is local, i.e. Cardiff and surrounding Local Authority areas, you will be placed on a waiting list and allocated a room near to the start of term, or once term has started.

Students who wish to apply for accommodation for Halls will be able to apply online on this page on the Accommodation website from Monday 1st April 2013. If you wish to receive Private Sector Housing Information please contact the Accommodation Services direct at accomm@cardiffmet.ac.uk.

Helping you find a place to live

Please read the enclosed leaflet very carefully. It outlines the types of accommodation available, the services available and the process of allocation of halls rooms.

Halls of Residence Online Application Form

What happens next:

Once you have completed your online application it will be sent automatically to the Accommodation office. You will receive an acknowledgement e mail which you should keep as it will have your unique application number on it. If you have not received an acknowledgement e-mail within 2 days please contact this office and we will check that your application has been received.

If we are able to offer you a place in halls we will e mail with an offer. If the offer is for Cardiff Metropolitan Halls or Victoria Halls, the e mail will include attachments that will need to be printed, signed and sent back to the Accommodation Office within 7 days of the e mail being sent. If we offer you a place in one of the Liberty Living plc Halls then the e mail will give you clear instructions about how to book the specific room allocated to you through their online booking system.

Unfortunately, with a few exceptions as outlined in our Allocations Policy, we do not guarantee any students a place in halls.

Should all the halls become full and we have no more halls left to offer, we will still keep you on our waiting list for any cancellations that occur and let you know as soon as any rooms are cancelled. We will also send you alternative information on accommodation options within the private sector, such as student houses and privately owned halls direct lets.

We must stress, for private accommodation, please only use agents or landlords on the Cardiff Metropolitan University Accommodation Services landlord register.
